By default LexWrite connects to a Microsoft Access database, usually this is sufficient when dealing with 1-50 users. If your users do not exceed 50 users then you can simply network your Access database. But if your user base exceeds 50 users then it is recommended to use a Microsoft SQL Server database.

To create or connect to a network database open your Case Management by opening the Forms Library and choosing “LexWrite Case Management”, once the Case Explorer is loaded click on the View menu and then choose Settings. In the settings dialog you will notice a Setup button in the Display section, click this button and the Networking Wizard will load.

Access Database
Connecting to an access database requires you to first copy a starting database to a network location. To do this first choose the 3rd option “Share your LexWrite Database” and then click “Next” and follow the instructions. If you have already done this step and are connecting other computers to your networked database select the 1st option “Connect to Networked MDB…” and choose “Next” and follow the instructions.

SQL Database
Connecting to a SQL Database requires you to have configured a server with Microsoft SQL Server, you can download Microsoft SQL Server Express 2008 which is a free product here:
http://www.microsoft.com/express/sql/download/

Once installed you have to then configure a LexWrite database, we have generated a SQL file to create a blank LexWrite database for you, you will find this file and more information here:

For more information on using LexWrite or any of its functions or features please visit our help page and view our demos or download the manual here:

Please let me know if anyone has any questions on this feature. Thanks.
